The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within the city.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.

The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the group access areas they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by the family.

This leaves them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
